Biden to Issue First Regulations on Artificial Intelligence Systems
President Biden is set to issue an executive order that will mark the U.S. federal government's first regulations on artificial intelligence. The order will require advanced A.I. products to be tested for potential use in producing biological or nuclear weapons, and the test results must be reported to the government.
The regulations will also address the creation of deep fakes by recommending that A.I.-generated photos, videos, and audio be watermarked. In addition, companies running cloud services will need to disclose information about their foreign customers. The order aims to establish safety, security, and consumer protection standards in the A.I. industry.
