ChatGPT app revenue shows no signs of slowing, but some other AI apps top it
ChatGPT, the leading AI chatbot app in terms of downloads and has seen its user base grow significantly since its mobile launch earlier this year. However, despite its popularity, it is not the highest-earning AI app, with several photo AI apps and other chatbots outpacing it in terms of revenue.
The AI app market is highly competitive, with multiple chatbot apps each having millions of downloads and active users. AI photo apps are also significant players, often generating more revenue than ChatGPT. The market is dynamic, with some apps gaining viral fame but possibly having shorter lifespans compared to more established offerings like ChatGPT.

A group behind Stable Diffusion wants to open source emotion-detecting AI
The nonprofit LAION has launched the Open Empathic project aimed at providing developers with open-source emotional intelligence AI. They are collecting audio samples from volunteers to train chatbots and text-to-speech models to recognize and respond to human emotions.
However, emotion-detecting technology is contentious, with concerns about data biases and potential misuse. While some advocate for a complete ban on emotion recognition AI, LAION believes in the benefits of open-source development but acknowledges the challenges and risks involved.
