ChatGPT continues to face disruptions amid ongoing outage and alleged DDoS attack
ChatGPT has been experiencing widespread disruptions since yesterday night, affecting over 100 million weekly users. OpenAI has attributed the outage to an internal technical issue and stated that services are gradually restoring. However, some threat actors have claimed responsibility, alleging that they staged a DDoS attack against ChatGPT.
Two groups, SkyNet and Anonymous Sudan, have reportedly collaborated to overwhelm ChatGPT with traffic, causing it to time out for users. They have cited political motivations for their actions, including their perceived bias against certain groups and OpenAI's ties to Israel. OpenAI has not officially confirmed the outage's cause and has reiterated that the issue stems from an internal technical problem. The alleged attackers have previously hinted at employing a powerful botnet known as Godzilla to carry out the DDoS attack.

Decoding AI: Your Questions Answered
What is Stemming?
Stemming is the process of reducing a word to its base form, also known as the root word or lemma. It is typically done by removing suffixes or prefixes from a word. This process aims to normalize words and group them together based on their common root, making it easier to analyze and process text data. For instance, stemming the words "walking," "walker," and "walked" would result in the common root "walk." Stemming is often used in natural language processing (NLP) tasks to reduce the dimensionality of text data and improve the performance of algorithms.
